Tile Contractor Miami

Tile Contractor
in Miami.

Licensed tile installer with 18 years in Miami-Dade and Broward. Porcelain, marble, natural stone, and large format slabs for homes, condos, and commercial spaces.

Why It Matters

Tile Contractor vs.
General Contractor.

A general contractor manages the whole project. They hire subs for plumbing, electrical, drywall, and tile. The tile work itself is done by whoever they bring in, and that person may or may not specialize in tile.

A tile contractor is the specialist. We do one thing: install tile and stone. Every person on our crew sets tile full time. That means proper thinset coverage, correct waterproofing details, tight grout joints, and flat surfaces with no lippage. The difference shows up in the finished product and in how long it lasts.

You can hire us directly as a homeowner, or your GC can bring us in as a subcontractor. Either way, we handle the tile and stone scope from substrate prep through final grout.

Dedicated Tile Crew

Every installer on our team sets tile and stone full time. No one is switching between drywall, painting, and tile. This is the only trade we do.

Proper Substrate Prep

We check and prep the surface before any tile goes down. That means leveling with self-leveling compound, installing backer board, and addressing cracks or deflection issues in the subfloor.

Waterproofing Expertise

We install Schluter-KERDI and Laticrete Hydro Ban membranes on every wet area. A general contractor may skip this step or apply a liquid membrane incorrectly. In Miami's humidity, this is the most important detail.

Material-Specific Techniques

Marble, large format porcelain, and natural stone each require different thinset, handling, and installation methods. We match the technique to the material, not the other way around.

18 Years in South Florida

We have been installing tile in Miami-Dade and Broward since 2008. We know the building codes, the common substrate issues in Miami homes, and what materials hold up in this climate.

Project Types

Where We Work.

Single-Family Homes

Bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, entryways, and outdoor patios in homes across Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Coconut Grove, Kendall, Palmetto Bay, and Doral. Most of our residential work is in homes built between 1950 and 2010 where the existing tile is being replaced or a new addition is being tiled for the first time.

Condos and High-Rises

Unit renovations in Brickell, Miami Beach, Aventura, and Edgewater. Condo work requires sound control underlayment to meet HOA IIC ratings, elevator reservations for material delivery, and coordination with building management. We handle all of that.

Commercial Spaces

Retail stores, restaurants, offices, and lobbies. Commercial tile needs to meet ADA slip resistance standards and handle heavy foot traffic. We install porcelain, quartzite, and large format slabs rated for commercial use.

New Construction

We work as a tile subcontractor on new builds for builders and general contractors in Miami-Dade. We come in after drywall and before cabinets, set all floor and wall tile, and return for final trim and grout after other trades finish their scope.

Renovation and Remodel

Full gut renovations where existing tile is demolished and new tile is installed on fresh substrate. This includes bathrooms, kitchens, and whole-house retile projects. We coordinate with your other trades so the tile phase fits the overall schedule.

Outdoor and Pool Areas

Pool decks, outdoor kitchens, lanais, and patio tile in South Florida homes. Outdoor tile requires frost-proof porcelain or natural stone with proper drainage slope and exterior-rated thinset. We use Laticrete 254 Platinum for all exterior applications.

Materials

Every Tile Type
We Install.

Each material has specific installation requirements. The thinset, trowel size, back-buttering technique, and curing time all change depending on what you are installing. We do not use a one-size-fits-all approach.

We do not sell tile. We are installers only. You can purchase your tile from any supplier or showroom in Miami, and we will install it. If you need sourcing help, we can point you to suppliers we trust, but we do not mark up materials.

Porcelain Tile

The most common material in Miami homes. Rectified porcelain in formats from 12x24 up to 48x48. Installed with MAPEI Kerabond or Laticrete 254 Platinum thinset. Suitable for floors, walls, showers, and exterior use.

Marble and Natural Stone

Carrara, Calacatta, Statuario, travertine, and quartzite. Natural stone requires white thinset to prevent discoloration, careful sealing, and specific handling to avoid cracking during cuts. We use wet saws with diamond blades rated for stone.

Large Format Slabs

Porcelain slabs up to 63x126 inches from brands like Porcelanosa, Florim, and Laminam. These require vacuum cup lifters, a perfectly level substrate, and full thinset coverage on both the slab and the floor. Two installers minimum per piece.

Mosaic and Small Format

Penny round, herringbone, chevron, basketweave, and subway tile. Small format tile takes longer per square foot because of the grout joint count and layout precision required. Common in shower floors and backsplashes.

Ceramic Tile

Standard ceramic for walls and light-traffic areas. Lower cost per square foot than porcelain. Good for rental properties, guest bathrooms, and budget-conscious projects. Installation runs $6 to $10 per square foot for labor.

“Tile is a permanent finish. The quality of the installation matters more than the price of the tile.”

Fitoria Tile & Marble

Licensing and Insurance

Licensed, Insured,
and Accountable.

Fitoria Tile & Marble is licensed and insured to operate in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. We carry general liability insurance and workers compensation coverage. If your condo building or HOA requires proof of insurance before work starts, we provide certificates the same day you ask.

A licensed tile contractor pulls permits when required, follows Florida Building Code for wet area installations, and stands behind the work after it is done. If you are comparing bids, ask every contractor for their license number and insurance certificate. That one question filters out most of the problems.

01

On-Site Estimate

We visit your property, measure the space, check substrate condition, and discuss your material and layout preferences. You get a written quote with a clear scope and price. No vague ranges.

02

Material Coordination

Once you approve the quote, we confirm your tile order and delivery dates. If you are purchasing your own tile, we verify the quantity and check for shade variation across boxes before install day.

03

Substrate Prep

Existing tile is removed if needed. The subfloor is leveled, backer board is installed where required, and any waterproofing is applied before tile goes down. This step takes 1 to 3 days depending on the scope.

04

Tile Installation

Layout is planned, dry-fit, and set. We work room by room, starting with the most complex areas. Large format tile, marble, and intricate patterns are set by our most experienced installers.

05

Grout, Seal, and Cleanup

Grout is applied, cleaned, and sealed where needed. All edge trim and transition strips are finished. We do a final walkthrough with you before the job is closed out.

Pricing

What Tile Installation
Costs in Miami.

Standard porcelain floor tile installation runs $8 to $15 per square foot for labor in most Miami homes. Large format porcelain (24x48 and above) runs $12 to $20 per square foot. Marble and natural stone installation runs $15 to $30 per square foot depending on the material and cut complexity. Shower tile with waterproofing runs $2,500 to $6,500 for a standard enclosure.
